As a GIS Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to manage, analyze, and interpret spatial data. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of GIS data and systems, performing spatial analysis, and supporting various geospatial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply GIS principles, including understanding data types, layers, geographic and routing analysis, and data conversion.
  • Utilize GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, iD, and JOSM to manage and analyze geospatial data.
  • Conduct digital cartography and digitize data from satellite images, distinguishing between various geographical features.
  • Perform geospatial modeling and spatial analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Build, update, and maintain GIS databases, software, and hardware systems.
  • Design, develop, and implement systems and databases for geospatial data management.
  • Administer and troubleshoot GIS applications and solutions.
  • Standardize geographic data and rectify multi-source data within the GIS platform.
  • Extract and input data from street views into the GIS system.
  • Review GIS data for accuracy and ensure high-quality task execution.
  • Research and test new geospatial tools and technologies.
  • Adapt to rapidly-changing environments and learn new technologies or tools quickly.
  • Work effectively in a dynamic, multi-contractor environment and demonstrate flexibility.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of GIS principles and practices, including data types, data layers, geographic and routing analysis, and data conversion.
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, iD, and JOSM is preferred.
  • Experience with digital cartography, satellite image digitization, and geographic feature identification.
  • Ability to perform tasks efficiently in fast-paced, task-oriented environments.
  • Eagerness to learn about new technologies and tools.
  • Experience in geospatial modeling, spatial analysis, and database management.
  • Familiarity with road form data and its application in GIS platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in GIS, digital cartography, or a similar role is highly desirable.
