The Senior GIS Specialist will play a key role in performing advanced GIS analysis, producing detailed reports, and mentoring GIS Analysts. You will leverage your expertise to support the GIS team and provide strategic advice on GIS initiatives, helping to drive technological advancements and optimize the use of geospatial data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced GIS Analysis: Apply a high degree of independent initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving to conduct advanced GIS analysis.
  • Reporting: Produce high-level analysis and detailed reports, presenting findings to management.
  • Mentoring and Coaching: Provide guidance and support to GIS Analysts, including mentoring and peer reviews.
  • Team Support: Assist and support the Team Leader GIS in managing and executing GIS related tasks.
  • Data Facilitation: Effectively facilitate the use of various types of GIS data, including remote sensing.
  • Management Reporting: Prepare and deliver periodic reports on GIS activities and project progress to management.
  • Technology Evaluation: Evaluate technological advances and promote the adoption of appropriate solutions among end-users.
  • Strategic Advice: Provide strategic advice, promote future possibilities, and assist in directing GIS initiatives to benefit customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in GIS, with a proven track record of advanced analysis and problem-solving.
  • Expertise: Strong background in GIS analysis, report generation, and mentoring.
  • Skills: Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Technology: Familiarity with a range of GIS data types and remote sensing technologies.

Education and Experience:
