As a Street View Car Driver, you will play a crucial role in driving our specially equipped vehicles to capture panoramic imagery of streets, roads, and other public spaces. You will be responsible for safely navigating designated routes, operating camera equipment, and collecting street-level imagery to contribute to our comprehensive street view database.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Vehicle Operation: Drive designated routes in our specially equipped street view vehicles while adhering to safety protocols, traffic regulations, and company policies.
  2. Camera Equipment Operation: Operate specialized camera equipment mounted on the vehicle, including 360-degree cameras, GPS devices, and other sensors, to capture high-quality panoramic imagery of streets and roads.
  3. Route Planning and Navigation: Plan and navigate designated routes using GPS navigation systems and mapping tools to ensure thorough coverage of targeted areas and adherence to data collection requirements.
  4. Safety and Compliance: Maintain a high level of safety awareness while driving and operating camera equipment, including monitoring road conditions, traffic patterns, and weather conditions to ensure the safety of yourself, passengers, and other road users.
  5. Data Collection: Collect and record street view imagery and associated metadata according to established procedures and guidelines, including conducting quality checks and inspections to ensure the accuracy and consistency of captured data.
  6. Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections of the street view vehicle to ensure proper functioning and roadworthiness, including fueling, fluid checks, and minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • 5 years of experience in driving commercial vehicles or similar.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and mapping tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in data collection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
